Graeme Harper Awarded the Order of Australia (AM)
Announced Monday, June 8, 2026 by the Governor-General of Australia, Graeme Harper, whose latest work of fiction (writing as Brooke Biaz) is Robots and Other People (Parlor, 2026), has been awarded the Order of Australia (AM).

Honorable Mention for Liane Malinowski and City Housekeeping!
Congratulations to Liane Malinowski, whose book City Housekeeping: Women’s Labor Rhetorics and Spaces for Solidarity, 1886-1911 has earned Honorable Mention for the CFSHRC Winifred Bryan Horner Outstanding Book Award. The book appears in Parlor Press's Studies in Rhetorics and Femisms series now edited by Jessica Enoch and Sharon Yam. Cheryl Glenn and Shirley Wilson Logan, the founding editors of the series, were the editors when City Housekeeping was published.

Poems on the Underground
This story about Judith Chernaik's forty-year "Poems on the Underground" program in London ran in the New York Times this morning: How a New Yorker Put Poetry on the London Underground [Free Article]. Sara Chernaik contacted Parlor Press last year to ask permission to display Jeongyre Choi's "Forest" from her collection Instances (2011). We said yes, of course. It's a beautiful poem. The ingredients of perfection are there from the start, waiting for the right moment, a light, or a shadow.
