We're not afraid to be a little bit adventurous with publishing projects that break the usual mode of the academic monograph. Here are some highlights and "firsts" over the years.

• With the WAC Clearinghouse, Glassbead, and Writing Spaces, Parlor Press has published more almost forty open access titles in both print and digital formats. 
• In 2017, Parlor Press became the first independent scholarly press to win the prestigious CCCC Best Book Award, which it shared with the WAC Clearinghouse (see http://www.ncte.org/cccc/awards/oba). The book is Asao Inoue's Antiracist Writing Assessment Ecologies: Teaching and Assessing Writing for a Socially Just Future
• In 2017, Parlor Press published the first “augmented” augmented reality book in the humanities, Augmented Reality: Innovative Perspectives across Art, Industry, and Academia edited by Sean Morey and John Tinnell.
• In 2006, Parlor Press published the first book in the humanities to appear simultaneously in print and digital form under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 2.5 License. The book was John Logie’s Peers, Pirates, and Persuasion: Rhetoric in the Peer-to-Peer Debates.
• In 2003, Parlor Press published the TK3 book, Digital Publishing F5/Refreshed, with contributions from more than thirty scholars and a production time of four hours and twelve minutes at Computers and Writing 2003. It was one of the first multimedia ebooks ever cataloged in the MLA International Bibliography. The TK3 format is no longer supported on Mac or Windows, but we're working on converting the book to EPUB format and will republish it soon.
